Farm house

Surrounded by centuries-old olive trees, Masseria Gianferrante, is a typical historical dwelling of the Salento region, that offers the peace of the countryside at just a few minutes from the beaches along the Riva di Ugento.

This ancient dwelling, which have been carefully restored, tell us of the history of Apulia. The structure of the medioval Tower, its trap doors and its close proximity to the seaside (3.5 km away), make this site proof of the defense system against the attacks of the Saracen from the Ionian Sea.

Walking in the garden, the rural houses, the old sheepfold, the pajara and the dry walls let us relive the past and imagine the agricultural lifestyle typical of this ancient dwellings, le masserie of the Salento region.

Today, both the medieval Tower and the rural houses have been restructured and furnished with care and transformed into comfortable living quarters, situated within a garden rich in colors and fragrances typical of Mediterranean vegetation.
